Step 1

To get started to import POP3 email into your Gmail account, click on the gear icon in the top right area of your Gmail. Then click settings.

Once you are in settings, click on the ‘Accounts and Import‘ tab.

Where it is titled ‘Check email from other accounts (Using POP3)‘, click on ‘add a POP3 mail account you own‘.

 

Step 4

Enter your email address.

Enter your email settings. These settings are listed out below:

Click ‘Next Step

 

Step 7

Enter your desired name that you would like people to see when you send them mail.

 

Step 8

Select ‘Send through Gmail‘ – it is a lot easier to set up.

 

 

Step 9

Click ‘Send verification‘.

 

 Step 10

Follow step 1 and step 2 again. Once you are in the tab ‘Accounts and import‘, you will see your new email address listed under ‘Check email from another account‘. Click on ‘Check mail now‘. This is just to speed up the process, as Gmail can take up to an hour to retrieve POP3 mail. It does get faster, the more mail you receive.

 

 Step 11

Check your Gmail inbox and within a minute you should receive an email from Gmail to verify that you own this email address. Open the email and click on the link that they have provided.

 

 Step 12

You are done! All set… You can now send and receive mail from multiple accounts from within your Gmail account.
